The second workshop of Pilot Project 5 was held in Tbilisi (Georgia) on 9 and 10 June 2015. The event was co-organised by Poland and Romania (Leaders of the Pilot Project 5) and Georgia.

During the workshop representatives of 14 countries and 2 international organisations (ICMPD and IOM) had a possibility to familiarise themselves with best practices regarding cooperation with diplomatic representations of third countries in establishing and confirming identity of migrants staying without documents in Pilot Project 5 countries. Participants agreed that it is of vital importance to establish and maintain good contacts with diplomatic representations’ (also informal ones) as effective collaboration contributes to an increase in the efficiency and implementation of return policy.

The meeting was opened by statements on behalf of the Deputy Minister for Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Piotr Mierecki, Director of PP TI, Ministry of Interior of Poland and by Mr. Andrei Vrabie, Project Manager at the EU Delegation in Moldova. The speakers underlined the importance of migration for trade and entrepreneurship, the national labour market and economic development in the whole. The good example of Moldova in successfully tackling M&D was also exemplified by some 80 initiatives implemented in cooperation with the EU Delegation in the migration area, as well as the budget support granted for the successful completion of the visa liberalization process.

For the Salzburg Forum Ministerial conference ICMPD has prepared a background paper „Analysis of the impact of the political situation in Ukraine on the migration situation in the Salzburg Forum countries“.  In the document can be found the most recent data on border crossings with Ukraine, data on visa and asylum applications from the Ukrainian citizens in the Salzburg Forum countries, as well as the information about Ukrainian IDPs. The Spring issue of the Prague Process Quarterly Review has been published! It covers the period January-March 2015 and presents the questions of student mobility - Pilot Project 6 topic, collection of migration data through the PP Knowledge base and the European Migration Network, as well as news from the Prague Process region and its umbrella. The 4th Core Group meeting was organised and hosted by the Leading state of Prague Process – Poland, on April 22nd in Warsaw. It gathered representatives of 12 countries (Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Germany, Hungary, Kosovo*, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey) and ICMPD in its capacity of Prague Process Secretariat.

Between 10^th and 13^th March 2015, the ERIS project organised a work visit to Portugal, and the cities of Lisbon, Torres Vedras and Porto. Thus, participants from the Czech Republic, the Russian Federation and ICMPD had the unique opportunity to get acquainted with Portuguese integration policies and concrete measures that are widely recognised as Good Practices in the field.

The new issue of the Prague Process Quarterly Review has been published, which covers the period October-December 2014. To enable you to plan ahead, the Review highlights the activities for the year 2015. Prague Process Targeted Initiative Objective 2 workshop on “Applied Knowledge in a Migration Policy Dialog: data collection, exchange and application” took place in Lisbon on February 12-13, 2015.

The poster presents the migration situation of Russia, an important immigration country in the region, which thus determines migration trends across the post-Soviet region.
