Senior Officials´ Meeting in Prague

The Prague Process Senior Officials´ Meeting took place in Prague on 27-28 February 2013 and gathered 54 participants from 33 states, European Commission, the Council of the European Union, Frontex, ICMPD, IOM and UNHCR. Participants of the meeting received an update on the current state-of-play of the implementation of the Prague Process Targeted Initiative, the Work Plan for 2013 and the new Prague Process Communication Strategy, which was unanimously agreed. The Communication Strategy includes the new Prague Process logo, the Prague Process web site at www.pragueprocess.eu, the Prague Process i-Map at www.imap-migration.org as well as the regular information to be distributed in a form of newsletters and reviews.The SOM discussed the issues related to the organisation of next Ministerial Conference, focusing mainly on the future content of the conference, its location, timing and funding. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. before the end of March 2013.One of the sessions of the meeting was dedicated to the consequences for migratory situation and policies of the Prague Process participating states, especially focusing on the consequences of the conflict in Syria. The situation and its impact was presented to participants by Sweden, Turkey, UNHCR, IOM and Frontex.
