On 13 July 2026, the Migration Partnership Facility (MPF) launched three Calls for Proposals, opening new funding opportunities to strengthen cooperation between EU Member States and partner countries across key migration and security priorities.
The 2026 Calls are organised under three funding instruments:
- Migration Partnerships, funded through the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) to support EU migration priorities with partner countries.
- Border Management, funded through the Border Management and Visa Instrument (BMVI) to strengthen the management and control of the EU’s external borders, thereby contributing to the Union’s internal security.
- Internal Security, funded through the Internal Security Fund (ISF) to improve the European Union’s internal security by supporting actions to tackle irregular migration and migrant smuggling, combat trafficking in human beings, and bolster capacities to prevent and respond to migration-related crises.
The Calls support projects addressing a broad range of priorities, including migration governance, asylum and international protection, return, readmission and reintegration, integrated border management, visa cooperation, the fight against migrant smuggling and trafficking in human beings, and action against transnational organised crime.
These Calls for proposals are of particular relevance to the Prague Process region as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are all eligible partner countries and may participate in project proposals together with eligible European countries. The Calls therefore offer new opportunities to strengthen operational cooperation, institutional capacity and policy dialogue between the European Union and Central Asia across a range of migration, border management and security priorities.

Timeline
All three Calls are without a deadline, meaning that Concept Notes may be submitted at any time until funds are depleted or the Calls are closed. The application process consists of two steps: first, submission of a Concept Note; and, if positively assessed, submission of a Full Application. All awarded actions must complete implementation by 30 June 2031.
Grant amount
In terms of funding, across the three Calls, the minimum grant amount is EUR 200,000, with no fixed maximum amount. Through AMIF (an allocation of six million euros), BMVI (allocation of five million euros) and ISF (allocation of three million euros) funding, MPF may finance up to 95% of the total eligible cost of an action, with the balance covered from other sources.
Applicants are encouraged to request funding that demonstrates value for money, while bearing in mind the Facility's objective of supporting multiple projects within the available financial envelope.
Eligibility
Given the intended support to the external dimension of EU migration policy, all proposals must involve at least one eligible European country and at least one partner country from the geographic regions defined in the Calls: the EU Southern Neighbourhood, Sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia, and South and West Asia.
