Description

According to the World Bank, approximately 11,2 % of the total population is involved into migratory movements. The main countries of destination are Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, and the USA. Over 80 % of all labour migrants from Tajikistan are employed in Russia. According to the Migration Service of Tajikistan, the total number of migrant workers totalled to 877,335 persons in 2012. Men prevail among migrant workers from Tajikistan; however, feminisation of migration from Tajikistan is gradually increasing reaching 14,1% (124,007 persons) of the total in 2012
